Georgia Tech Ivan Allen College of Liberal Arts

Dean's Welcome

Greetings from Dean Jacqueline Jones Royster

Dean Jacqueline Jones Royster

Welcome to the Ivan Allen College of Liberal Arts! Our six schools combine to offer a robust intellectual environment that engenders an exciting range of disciplinary and interdisciplinary research and an ambitious array of learning experiences for both undergraduate and graduate students.

Our mission is to merge the liberal arts into the larger science and technology-centered context of the Institute and the world beyond. Core goals are to enrich knowledge-making holistically and dynamically; encourage a problem-solving approach that considers socio-historical, cultural, and linguistic perspectives; and encourage respect and conscious regard in our engagements with others.

At Ivan Allen College, we take great pride in being a vibrant and vital asset in shaping the future of education at Georgia Tech. Our intent is to prepare leaders who are capable of balancing a richly defined base of expertise with a well-grounded sense of social and ethical responsibility. It is these qualities and skills that distinguish our graduates and ensure their success as leaders for our state, region, nation, and world.
