This is a joint degree of the Sam Nunn School of International Affairs and the School of Modern Languages. Students earning the BS in International Affairs and Modern Languages take the same core courses required for the BS in International Affairs, but also receive intensive foreign language training and learn the fundamentals of dealing with foreign cultures and societies. Students can concentrate in Chinese, French, German, Japanese, and Spanish. The program accommodates those with little or no language preparation in high school.
Students in this program are strongly encouraged to enroll in the intensive summer Language for Business and Technology program (LBAT) offered by the School of Modern Languages. Additionally recommended, is a semester or year abroad in order to gain professional competence in language skills.
Postgraduate study may be in law, management, international relations, economics, and other fields.
