B.S. in Economics-International Affairs

Economics and International AffairsGeorgia Tech's Bachelor of Science degree in Economics & International Affairs focuses on the most pressing issues in a global, interdependent, and multicultural environment. Areas of study include international trade and the global marketplace and security issues facing nations in the global community.

In cooperation with Georgia Tech's Sam Nunn School of International Affairs, the School of Economics offers a specialized Bachelor of Science degree in Economics and International Affairs. At Georgia Tech, you'll learn about the most pressing concerns of today's global community, with core classes in economics, international affairs, foreign language, social and natural science, mathematics, computer science, and humanities. Our upper-level coursework provides specific training in variety of areas, including international security and diplomacy, comparative cultures, statistical modeling, and microeconomic and macroeconomic theory and policy.

The primary objectives of the Bachelor of Science degree in Economics and International Affairs are to provide students with:

  1. a detailed understanding of economic theory and practice in the contemporary world;
  2. an understanding of the global, interdependent, and multicultural environment in which they live;
  3. a set of quantitative and qualitative analytical skills centered around policy-oriented issue areas in economics and international affairs. These skills will provide graduates with the capabilities to engage in strategic planning and analysis efforts in economic and international contexts.

We encourage students to pursue at least two internships while in the degree program. The Sam Nunn School and the School of Economics sponsor summer programs around the globe, including programs in Brussels, Shanghai, Buenos Aires, and Costa Rica.
