Ivan Allen Jr. Legacy Awards
The Legacy Awards honor faculty and students whose lives and work embody the spirit of Mayor Allen. 2013 winners were announced at the Founder's Day Awards Celebratory Program March 13. The awards are supported through the generosity of Col. Stephen and Mrs. Pamela Hall.2013 Legacy Award Recipients

Faculty: Dr. Lisa Yaszek, professor in the School of Literature, Media, and Communication, for extraordinary work in science fiction's sociological applications and dedication as a teacher.

Alumnus: Travis Horsley, MSc in Public Policy (2012) and BS in International Affairs and Modern Languages (2010), for co-founding Tubing Operations for Humanitarian Logistics (TOHL), an enterprise with a plan and technology to revolutionize the way isolated communities receive water.

Graduate Student: Andrew Quitmeyer, PhD candidate in Digital Media in the School of Literature, Media, and Communication, for his research connecting the quantitative realms of computer science and biology with the creative area of digital performance in projects that have taken him around the world.

Undergraduate Student: Angeli Patel, International Affairs major and Philosophy and Law, Science, and Technology minors, for her foundation and leadership of ReThink, focusing on disabilities education, and her active participation in campus activities.
