On Monday April 24th from 4.00 - 5.30 PM the graduate students in HTS 6124, Science and Technology Across Borders, will present the results of "The Afghan Project" that they have have been working on collectively. Three main topics are covered:
1. From Optimism to Opium: US Modernization Projects in the Helmand Valley
(Leslie Bennett, Ling Ming Huang, James Surgeon)
2. Competing Modernities? US and Soviet Development Projects in Afghanistan
3. Embedding Anthropologists in the US Military's Human Terrain System in Iraq and Afghanistan : Ethical and Political Issues
(Garrett Bunyak, Amanda Domingues)
The results will be presented using powerpoint and videos. All are welcome to attend.
