College Hosts Largest Ever “Shadow Day” for Prospective Students and Parents

Posted April 3, 2017

The Ivan Allen College of Liberal Arts welcomed its largest ever cohort for Shadow Day. Ninety-one students and 114 parents from eight states attended.

The program provides prospective students and their parents with an inside look at the experience of majoring in the Ivan Allen College of Liberal Arts and what life is like as a liberal arts student at Georgia Tech. Shadow Day students were in 32 classes. This year’s program also included two student life panels, four housing tours, 20 small group tours, a behind-the-scenes athletics tour, three parent tours, Q&A sessions for parents, students, academic advising, and with Dean Royster, an admissions session, and lots and lots of good food.

Shadow Day is one of the largest cross-college events. This year’s activities involved 55 student volunteers, the Ivan Allen College Student Ambassadors, the Ivan Allen College Student Advisory Board, faculty, and our enrollment and admissions staff.

Thank you to everyone who visited for Shadow Day and everyone who helped make Shadow Day possible!
