The Ivan Allen College Brings Together Alumni

The Ivan Allen College is ramping up its efforts to engage our alumni. Over the past year, the College has hosted new networking and social events for alumni. With Happy Hours and Braves game outings, Ivan Allen College alumni have enjoyed the opportunity to have fun with new and old friends, and some of their favorite faculty.

The Ivan Allen College celebrated its distinguished alumni last spring with an awards ceremony and reception at the Historic Academy of Medicine in Midtown Atlanta. Over 150 attendees enjoyed food, wine, live music, and the chance to mingle with one another and get their picture taken with Buzz! It was the first time the College honored its alumni at such a large scale event, and it was a rousing success! The Homecoming Brunch for Alumni and Friends will take place for the second consecutive year on Saturday, October 24 on the front porch of the Old Civil Engineering Building. Sponsored in part by the Ivan Allen College Alumni Affinity Group, the mimosa brunch is a great way to start your day — or refresh yourself after the Ramblin’ Wreck Parade. Exciting prizes are raffled off, including gift certificates to area businesses, restaurants, hotels, and signed sports memorabilia. Alumni and friends of the College may RSVP here.

The Ivan Allen College Affinity Group is looking forward to its formal establishment this winter. The group will focus on four key areas:

1. Leadership for current students in the form of mentoring, internships, and job shadowing.
2. Development to serve the professional development needs for Ivan Allen College alumni.
3. Representation by advocating and cultivating the full participation of Ivan Allen College throughout the institution.
4. Building Community by fostering an environment of collaboration between faculty, staff, alumni, students, the institution, and its surrounding community.
