Job PlacementThe Georgia Tech liberal arts degree is unique.

  • It offers the broad background in history, literature, languages, philosophy, and sociology that students look for in a liberal arts program.
  • It provides the strong analytical, research, and communications skills and the sense of social context that employers expect in liberal arts graduates.
  • It includes not only degrees in the traditional humanities and the social sciences but also in professional areas like Public Policy and International Affairs.

It allows students to customize their education to further their career goals. Ivan Allen students can:

  • Complement their Major with one of 40 Minors selected from the entire range of offerings at Georgia Tech. Minors range from traditional liberal arts topics like History and Philosophy to more applied areas like Accounting, Computing, and Marketing.
  • Complete a 5-year B.S. and M.S. in the Public Policy or Digital Media programs
  • Complete a pre-law or pre-med specialty
  • Deepen their specialty training though independent study courses, participation in the Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program (UROP).
  • Gain practical international experience through the new International Plan which combines intensive language training and international corporate internships

And it provides training and assistance for the job market. Ivan Allen students:

  • Participate in the semi-annual networking nights where Ivan Allen students meet with corporate and government employers to talk about their skills and employers' needs.
  • Participate in an internship program. Over 60% of Ivan Allen students complete internships using the College's Ivan internship database to find companies looking for their skills.
  • Are supported by Georgia tech's world-class career services unit
