Royster Announces National Search for Chair of the School of Economics

Dean Jacqueline Royster has announced a national search for a visionary leader to serve as chair of the School of Economics (SOE) within the Ivan Allen College of Liberal Arts.

According to the position description, the chair will “lead a diverse group of talented faculty and staff in fulfilling the research, teaching, and service missions of the SOE. The chair will provide strategic and operational leadership including (but not limited to) new faculty recruitment, promotion of faculty scholarship and teaching excellence, mentoring, program quality improvement, fundraising through development and sponsored research projects, and budget management. The chair will oversee the direction and expansion of faculty and degree programs in the SOE over the next 2 - 4 years. This position is part of a cluster hire for 2018 and a larger hiring plan going forward.”

In announcing the search committee, Dean Royster said, “On behalf of the School of Economics, the Ivan Allen College, and Georgia Tech broadly, we thank this group of colleagues in advance for their invaluable service in making sure that our search for leadership in the School of Economics is a successful one.”
