Three Ivan Allen College Students Selected for 2018 Millennium Fellowship

Posted September 20, 2018

Three students from the Ivan Allen College of Liberal Arts at the Georgia Institute of Technology have been selected to be a part of the 2018 Millenium Fellowship, a joint leadership development program of the United Nations Academic Impact and the Millennium Campus Network (MCN).

The selective fellowship is a semester-long leadership program that will engage the fellows through experiential curriculum on cultivating core values, honing hard and soft skills, and sharing best practices.

Elizabeth Krakovski and Mira Kaufman, undergraduate students in the School of Public Policy, and Gabrielle Oliverio, an undergraduate student in the Sam Nunn School of International Affairs, were selected for the fellowship.

Georgia Tech applications were coordinated by Serve-Learn-Sustain (SLS) and Prestigious Fellowships Advising in the Center for Career Discovery & Development (C2D2). SLS works with the vast majority of the Georgia Tech students selected for the fellowship, including Oliverio, who works as an SLS global ambassador, and Kaufman, who is an SLS student assistant. Krakovski also has experience working at Georgia Tech after being a peer advisor with the Office of International Education.

MCN launched the Millennium Fellowship in 2013 to convene, challenge, and celebrate student leadership for social impact. Student leaders worldwide were invited to join a community of young leaders advancing the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals in their respective communities. Notably, 75 percent of MCN alumni go on to work in social impact careers in the public and private sectors.

Congratulations to Elizabeth, Mira, and Gabrielle — well done!

The School of Public Policy and Sam Nunn School of International Affairs are units of the Ivan Allen College of Liberal Arts.
