Overview

Samba Sy earned his degrees from East Stroudsburg University (M.A. Political Science) and Georgia State University (M.A. French Literature) where he also received a Graduate Certificate in Translation. He joined GT in Fall 2013 first as a part-time lecturer and was promoted to full-time instructor in Fall 2015. He is an accredited examiner for the DELF-DALF exam. Currently, he teaches Beginners and Intermediate courses. He is a three-time recipient of the Class of 1940 Course Survey Teaching Effectiveness Award and the recipient of Class of 1934 Course Survey Teaching Effectiveness Award. He introduced Wolof courses at GT. He is the Coordinator of the Introductory Language program and serves also as the Director of the LBAT (Language for Business and Technology) Senegal program.
