  • Schneer Addresses British Academy on Centenary of Balfour Declaration

  • Marilyn Brown Named Regents Professor; Helena Mitchell Renewed as Regents Researcher

    The University System of Georgia (USG) Board of Regents has appointed three new Georgia Tech faculty members as Regents Professors, one of which is Marilyn A. Brown in the School of Public Policy, a unit in the Ivan Allen College of Liberal Arts.

  • Congratulations to Bruce McEver for New Book Release

    Congratulations to Bruce McEver on the release of his new book Like Lesser Gods. An Exclusive Evening with Bruce McEver was held on Friday, October 27, 2017, at the National Arts Club in New York City.

    McEver is founder and chairman of Berkshire Capital and a member on the Ivan Allen College of Liberal Arts Advisory Board at Georgia Institute of Technology. He endows the McEver Chair in Poetry, the McEver Professor of Engineering and the Liberal Arts, and the Leadership and Multifaith Program.

  • Schmid and Huang Published in ‘International Studies Quarterly’

    Post-doctoral researcher Jonathan Huang and Jon Schmid, doctoral candidate in the International Affairs, Science and Technology Program at the Georgia Institute of Technology, had an article published in the October 6 issue of International Studies Quarterly: “State Adoption of Transformative Technology: Early Railroad Adoption in China and Japan.”

  • Two Ivan Allen College Students Receive 2017 Foley Scholar Award

    Two students in the Ivan Allen College of Liberal Arts at Georgia Institute of Technology received the 2017 Foley Scholar award at this year’s GVU student awards competition.

    Tom Jenkins, a doctoral student in the Graduate Program in Digital Media in the School of Literature, Media, and Communication (LMC) and Morgan Orangi, a master’s student in the program's Human-Computer Interaction track, were recipients. Both are advised by Carl DiSalvo, LMC associate professor.

  • International Patients Increasingly Seek In Vitro Fertilization Treatment in U.S.

    A new study from the Georgia Institute of Technology and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention finds that the use of assisted reproductive technology (ART) in the U.S. by non-U.S. residents is growing. These “reproductive tourists” are more likely, compared to Americans, to use egg donors and carriers and genetically screen early embryos.

  • Center for Advanced Communications Policy Achieves Highest Score for RERC

    The Center for Advanced Communications Policy (CACP) in Georgia Tech’s School of Public Policy released its annual report for the period July 1, 2016 – June 30, 2017. Among the achievements highlighted in the report, CACP received $4.625 million in funding and achieved the highest score awarded to an RERC in the past 16 years. The School of Public Policy is a unit of the Ivan Allen College of Liberal Arts.

    The Sports, Society, and Technology (SST) Program hosted a screening of Olympic Pride, American Prejudice and a post-film panel on October 2, 2017 in the Student Center Theater on the campus of the Georgia Institute of Technology. Co-sponsors of the event included the Ivan Allen College of Liberal Arts, the School of History and Sociology (HSOC), and the Black Feminist Think Tank. Faculty and students in the SST program study sport in the context of historical and contemporary culture.

  • Faculty and Staff Mount Puerto Rico Hurricane Maria Relief Effort

    October 9, 2017

    The catastrophic damage resulting from Hurricane Maria has left most residents of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico in dire need. In response, members of the Georgia Institute of Technology community organized a campaign to provide much needed aid to the Puerto Rico. Ivan Allen College’s Juan Carlos Rodriguez in Modern Languages and Marilu Suarez in the Sam Nunn School of International Affairs are deeply involved in organizing disaster relief on campus.
